C F Him colour blocking in Barcelona

It’s the weekend again and I am sitting here wondering where did the week go. In fact, the apt question would be where did the month go seeing that it’s the last weekend of January already.

This time last weekend, I was in Barcelona exploring another passion of mine, photography. I will be sharing with you some of the work I did in Barcelona and of course do an article to review the city itself based on my experiences very soon. However, i thought i should share with you all this look which is a good example of colour blocking. As someone who express himself visually, I truly enjoy being behind the camera as it grants me the freedom (amongst other things) to work with an idea from it conceptual stages to the end when I deliver it as a finished product. C F Him in Istanbul – Hospitality and Food

IMG_3371

What can I really say about Istanbul that has not already been said many times over? The fascinating history of empires, its past religious crossroads, the connecting point between Asia and Europe and the list goes on and on. Everything from a factual and historic perspective is well documented. In fact, I urge you to check out an article I wrote a few weeks ago on the architecture of this beautiful city. I share quite a few photos of some of the beautiful landmarks and hope you like them.

See, I told you everything that needs to be said from a generic perspective has been said already. However, there are two aspects of my visit I would like to share with you all. This is purely from a personal perspective and can truly say I was blown away them. The hospitality and the food of the Turks is like none other.

Hospitality

I still cant get over the fact that the people of Istanbul were genuinely pleasant. From the airport upon arrival to checking out from my hotel, it was pure joy to interact with such polite and friendly people. This might sound a bit patronising but you would understand if you are from London where everything is a tall order. When I can, I always make sure I chose a decent hotel as I believe this adds a lot of value to the entire experience. Having worked very hard through the year with no time off, a was looking forward to the perfect hotel where I Continue reading C F Him in Istanbul – Hospitality and Food

That business look

Choosing the right suit and using accessories around it shouldn’t be a rocket science when you know the basic rules of looking dapper. A business suit is by far the most important and most utilised suit for movers and shakers in the city. You only have to pop round to the squire mile or canary wharf in London during peak hours too see a sea of men donning business suits. Financial advisors, bankers, IT consultants and marketing executives all wearing business suits to look the part.

For any stylish individual, colour, fabric, and fit are just a few things to be taken into consideration when investing in a business suit. From the boardroom to a shared office space, you want to leave a great impression on the minds of those around you. Whilst most of what happens in these environments may be out of your control, how you look in that suit shouldn’t be one of them. In fact if there is one thing that should be totally in your control, it is your look. Continue reading That business look

Prague: The style capital for architecture in Europe – 2

As promised in a previous post about Prague, I have put together another set of photos of this wonderful city. This city does not need introduction when it comes to architecture. If you are into architecture then you would definitely appreciate the architectural diversity Prague has to offer. Lonely planet wrote “Prague is a living laboratory of 1000 years of European architecture. Fans of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, neoclassical and art nouveau will all find plenty to gawk at. Gothic marvels such as the Charles Bridge and St Vitus Cathedral rival the best in Europe. More eclectic 20th-century styles like cubism, functionalism and even ‘communism’ are represented as well, creating an entrancing labyrinth of contrasting styles that complete a remarkably cohesive whole”.

I would even challenge anyone who isn’t bothered about architecture to visit Prague and not be intrigued and stimulated by this. If and when you visit Prague, here are a few places, buildings and points of interest I would encourage visitors to see: Charles bridge, Old town square, St. Vitus Cathedral, Astronomical clock, Prague castle, Petrin Lookout tower, Dancing house, Prague national theatre, Kampa Island, Church of our lady before Tyn, National Museum, St Nicholas Church, and Powder gate.

I am sure there are many other places to see but these are just the ones from the top of my head.

Before you browse through the pictures, here are a few facts about Prague you might find interesting:

– Prague Castle is the biggest ancient castle in the world.

– Prague’s nick name is the city of a hundred spires.

– The population of Prague is over 1.2 million

– The Vltava River which is Czech republic’s longest river flows through Prague.

– Prague was the seat of two Holy Roman Emperors

Enjoy the photos and please leave a comment or share your experiences from Prague (if you have any) for other readers. thumb_IMG_5263_1024 thumb_IMG_5259_1024   thumb_IMG_5383_1024 thumb_IMG_5429_1024 thumb_IMG_5425_1024 thumb_IMG_5424_1024 thumb_IMG_5422_1024 thumb_IMG_5419_1024 thumb_IMG_5405_1024 thumb_IMG_5404_1024 thumb_IMG_5531_1024 thumb_IMG_5563_1024 thumb_IMG_5556_1024   thumb_IMG_5580_1024 thumb_IMG_5613_1024 thumb_IMG_5603_1024 thumb_IMG_5598_1024 thumb_IMG_5590_1024   thumb_IMG_5635_1024 thumb_IMG_5633_1024   thumb_IMG_5652_1024 thumb_IMG_5657_1024   thumb_IMG_5745_1024 thumb_IMG_5740_1024 thumb_IMG_5774_1024 thumb_IMG_5778_1024   thumb_IMG_5946_1024 thumb_IMG_5945_1024 thumb_IMG_5944_1024 thumb_IMG_5942_1024 thumb_IMG_5941_1024 thumb_IMG_5940_1024 thumb_IMG_5935_1024 thumb_IMG_5934_1024 thumb_IMG_5930_1024 thumb_IMG_5927_1024   Prague by River thumb_IMG_5907_1024 thumb_IMG_5865_1024 thumb_IMG_5905_1024 thumb_IMG_5896_1024 thumb_IMG_5887_1024 thumb_IMG_5884_1024 thumb_IMG_5880_1024 thumb_IMG_5878_1024 thumb_IMG_5869_1024 thumb_IMG_5851_1024 thumb_IMG_5840_1024 thumb_IMG_5833_1024 thumb_IMG_5832_1024 thumb_IMG_5822_1024 thumb_IMG_5821_1024 thumb_IMG_5819_1024 thumb_IMG_5810_1024 thumb_IMG_5804_1024 thumb_IMG_5802_1024 thumb_IMG_5801_1024
