How to stay warm but stylish for Autumn

Just in case you have not noticed, we are smack-bang in the middle of autumn (or Fall if you are American) and the chilled weather is a testament to that. To be honest, autumn has been very kind this year so far as far as England is concerned. The weather has thrown up a pleasant surprise and stayed relatively warm for the the time of the year.

One thing I always look forward to during autumn is the falling leaves and how nature paints beautiful images all around us. Living in a concrete jungle like London unfortunately robs one of this natural beauty.

Anyway before I digress any further, this post is part of my autumn collection shoot I did a couple of months ago with three other incredible talents (a model, a creative director, and a photographer) whom I will introduce to you later on in other posts.

For this post, I will share with you an alternative autumn look which I think works very well for mild weather conditions. Continue reading How to stay warm but stylish for Autumn

Mind the details: Socks

If by any chance you missed the pocket square post on the “Mind the details” series, i recommend you catch up with it here.

Socks are by far one of the most underrated pieces of items which are not given much attention for many reasons. To appreciate the value of socks compared to the rest of your look, one much first of all understand the use of this accessory. Are you wearing socks for protection, for athletics, comfort or for style? Once you decide the main purpose of use then other things will start to fall into place. As you would have guessed, my focus is on style and how dress socks can be used to greatly enhance an overall look.

You might be thinking whats the point of paying attention to a piece of item that is barely seen. Well first of all, if your socks is never seen when you wear a dress trouser then you might be doing something wrong and the chances are your trouser length is longer than it should be. Granted when standing straight one might not always see your socks but I guarantee this will change the minute you put one foot in front of another and start walking or when you make good use of your bottom by sitting down. The most versatile suit ever made

Grey seem to be the colour of choice for the coming season if trends spotted on catwalk shows are anything to go by. “Not too unusual for the cold weather collections you might think, but this season it’s the way it was styled from tailored to tracksuit bottoms that boosted it into trend territory: with as many other shades of grey as possible” said GQ.

So there you have it, if you only want to be trendy next season as far as colours and hues are concerned then you better get your hands on a grey suit. However, Continue reading The most versatile suit ever made

Sunday best – 2

If you remember correctly I wrote a blog post last month about my Sunday routine as far as dress style is concerned, and named it Sunday best. If you haven’t read it yet, I suggest you go back to it (here) and acquaint yourself with the history behind the routine. This blog post is a continuation of that post which is the second of a three part series on Sunday best.

I do not exaggerate when I say Sunday is my favourite day of the week for so many reasons. More than anything else, going to church to listen to my pastor’s sermon and fellowshipping with friends afterwards is a perfect way to start my week. It truly sets me up spiritually and mentally as it serves as a springboard from which the rest of the week flows. Continue reading Sunday best – 2
