The lifestyle companion by Eddie Handmade | Cuts for Him

So over the summer, I was able to secure what I used to call a notepad. In fact, I am absolutely sure everyone else including the brand manufacturers (Eddie Handmade) calls it a notepad. And you must be saying to yourself why would I call it anything else, right?

First of all, it is important to recognize the impact this rather “minor” accessory has made in my creative life. As a content creator, I always document in the form writing or other means the process of capturing images both still and videos before implementation. Imagine sitting up at night writing down steps and processes for a shoot the next day so you can go out there and just execute flawlessly. It’s a beautiful feeling when I am able to execute dues to planning especially when managing clients expectations combined with other creatives such as photographers, stylists, makeup artists etc.

However, I have always struggled with documenting this process itself.  Writing on pieces of paper Continue reading The lifestyle companion by Eddie Handmade | Cuts for Him

Men’s grooming starts with Hommage | Cuts for Him

Ok fellas, I have to admit that I dropped the ball a bit on here when it comes to grooming. I guess its a man thing, we love to groom ourselves but do not talk about it half as much as we should. It’s like trying to look good physically but don’t want to admit the number of times you visit the gym to get those chiseled abs lol.

Well, guess what? That’s about to change around here. You will be seeing a lot more grooming articles with a comprehensive review of products I use.

I am absolutely excited to reignite the grooming game with a brand I have known for a number of years now. It’s fairly new in the UK but has strong roots in the US. The name itself will give you a clue about its origin. Hommage is a grooming at it finest. From what I personally know, Hommage is designed specifically for men who want to take their grooming game to the next level. For men who take pride in looking and feeling good.

From it £30 ShaveCare monthly plan to its premium Silver label replenishment package, Hommage has Continue reading Men’s grooming starts with Hommage | Cuts for Him

Cultured in Culture | London | Cuts for Him

CULTURE! The Oxford dictionary defined it as “The arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively” and the Cambridge dictionary puts it as “The way of life, especially the general customs and beliefs, of a particular group of people at a particular time”.  People identify themselves along cultural lines and strong bonds are formed through generations. Culture is as old as humanity itself but has been misunderstood or misrepresented.

It is usually said that a person will not know where they are going unless they know where they come from. This to my interpretation fits the bill for knowing your heritage culture. I also believe that every group of people practice some form of culture possibly passed down to them. From the food we eat to the clothes we wear, from art and architecture to the songs we listen to, from things relatively insignificant as a gift to more important things such as a language all contribute to defining our culture.

So it always baffles me when people try to define a person using one of the above or even worst, their skin colour. Come to think of it, skin colour is one of the most used criteria to pigeonhole Continue reading Cultured in Culture | London | Cuts for Him
