I stand with Cape Town – Push back Day Zero | Cuts for Him

I was disheartened when I first learned about the water shortage in Cape Town. The city is on the brink of a drought known as the worst in its history. The situation is so acute that authorities have put a date when taps will all but run dry and it is locally known as “Day Zero”. Whilst in Cape Town, Day Zero was expected in the second week of July which is a stark reminder for a visitor like myself never to take such a precious resource for granted.

To help push back day zero, local authorities have encouraged citizens to use no more than 50 liters a day per person. To think that one of my favorite cities in the world will go without water come Day Zero was enough reason to inspire this shoot.

I stand in solidarity with the people of Cape Town during this difficult period.

From London to Paris, when creatives connect | Cuts for Him

I really have to be honest here and say Paris has never before appealed to me like it does for so many people. I like the city and its food and architecture but something always seems to be missing. I simply can’t lay a finger on why I feel that way. I have been to Paris so many times that I have lost count but just kept having the feeling of not enjoying it as I should. I joked the last time I was there that for some bizarre reason, every time I go to Paris, something unexpected happens that ruins my trip.

So when I told my blogger friend Lamich Kirabo that I was visiting Paris, she was absolutely sure I would love it this time around. Not the least because we were planning a collaboration.

A bit about Lamich

Lamich was born and raised in Uganda and created her platform called Third Local in 2015. According to Lamich, she recognized a gap in the African market which fails to provides  Continue reading From London to Paris, when creatives connect | Cuts for Him

Labrum’s Freetown collection at LFWM AW18 | Cuts for Him

LFWM AW18 is gone but it seems like I have a hangover from it. I am still putting together some of the photos taken from some of the spectacular shows of the season. Images I should have shared with you weeks ago but life has its own plans, ha.

Having worked with Labrum London on a couple of occasions before, this show was one I most looked forward to for many reasons. One of these reasons was the fact that Continue reading Labrum’s Freetown collection at LFWM AW18 | Cuts for Him

LFWM Grooming trend with Gillette | Cuts for Him

London Fashion Week Men’s AW18 has been one of the highlights of the past 6 months for me. Unfortunately, I always leave applying for my press pass for the 11th hour and get stressed on the first day trying to get it printed. But apart from the press pass debacle, I am very pleased with how AW18 turned out. As a stylist and influencer, it was a pleasure to see the likes of Vogue, Esquire, GQ and many more featuring me as one of the best-dressed men of the season. However, the one thing that made all the effort of getting up on a Saturday and Sunday morning to head out in the cold was the chance to hang out and catch up with fellow bloggers. Some of these bloggers live outside London and so the only opportunity to see them is during London Fashion Week Men’s. Between catching up with old friends and making new ones, LFWM is the perfect place and time to spot trends or even be part of trendsetting where street style is concerned.

LFWM AW18 – The Strand

The main trend I noticed this season is based on grooming. Specifically, hair and facial grooming. As someone who’s personal signature look is around my hairstyle and facial hair, Continue reading LFWM Grooming trend with Gillette | Cuts for Him
