Shopping experience for gents at the Royal exchange | Cuts for Him

I don’t know about you but shopping is one of those things I do not always look forward to it. I do it functionally when I need to and not just as a “hubby” as it were. I have a few friends who feel the same and one of the reasons for this is shop-hopping.

How often do you hear a group of guys plan a shopping trip just for the sakes of recreational purposes? Yep thats right, it does not happen very often. In fact with my experience, the only time guys talk about going to the shops together is when shopping for specific occasions like weddings. We might Continue reading Shopping experience for gents at the Royal exchange | Cuts for Him

John Smedley’s form and structure on Knitwear | Cuts for Him

On Friday last week, I had the privilege of attending the launch of bespoke sculptures by John Smedley’s artist in residence Guy Haddon Grant. This was a collaborative work celebrating their partnered passion for form and construction.

These sculptures were inspired by the machine beds, and movement of both needles and yarn at John Smedley’s factory in Derbyshire. As can be seen on one of the images below, the sculpture has both industrial and delicate characteristics providing a perfect synergy  between the machines and the gentle knitwear produced.

Speaking of knitwear, there has always been one brand that comes to mind every times someone mention the term “knitwear” and that is John Smedely. If you are a lover of good quality knitwear you would have recognised John Smedley as the undisputed leader in this humble yet prestigious garment. Whether it is the roll neck or the polo knitwear, there is no denying the fact that the knitwear exudes elegance and style.

One thing I really like about the brand is its unassuming nature. If you notice, the garments do not have visible logos on them. Now that takes a lot of character and assurance Continue reading John Smedley’s form and structure on Knitwear | Cuts for Him

The everyday weekend look | Cuts for Him

Ok so this post came a little bit later than planned. The idea was to share it last weekend but as they say, even the best plans do come undone from time to time lol.

This is meant to be a quick post about dressing down whilst staying stylish. As you may already know, suits are my thing. I would wear a suit in my sleep if it were practical lol. However, there is nothing worse than going to an event or a hangout and feeling overdressed. In my opinion, its even worst than being underdressed. Make you feel like a right idiot seeking attention. At least for weddings, formal dinners and other similar occasions, you know you have to dress to the nines. And of course, if you are only hanging out with your boys over a pint down the local bar then by all means roll up with your PJs. Actually, please don’t. You might look like you need help and at best, your mates might use it to laugh at you but you get the point I am trying to make.

So anyway as stated above, the point of this post is to create a simple  but effective look that transcends many Continue reading The everyday weekend look | Cuts for Him

Marks and Spencer takes tailoring to the next level | Cuts for Him

So I got an email on Thursday afternoon from a PR company on behalf of Marks and Spencer inviting me to an exclusive event called Tailoring Talk. If I were to be honest, I almost deleted the email as I was only skimming through my inbox getting rid of spam emails sent by so called social media companies promising to make me a “star” on social media. You can imagine the annoyance. Anyway I am digressing lol.

So I read the invite from Marks and Spencer and the first thing that came to mind was you came too late mate. I had already booked a ticket to go to Paris Fashion Week for a couple of days and one of the days was Tuesday (the day of the event). As regular customer of Marks and Spencer it would have been nice to be there but I had already made other commitments. However, after a few hours of deliberation, I decided I couldn’t afford to Continue reading Marks and Spencer takes tailoring to the next level | Cuts for Him
