The ultimate summer suit

For those in England, the weather has been kind to us in the past few days. Some might even add that it has been too kind as garments and layers are falling off due to the “excessive” heat. I try not to complain as I know I’d rather this hot weather any day to a rainy or snowy one. Truth be told, its easier to keep warm than to cool down but like I said, give me a hot day over a cold one any time. As Brits, our conversations are never a few sentences away from talking about the weather. Its like we just love to talk about the weather. It is a conversation starter and I can see why most people would use it as an ice breaker. Everyone can relate to the conditions of the weather.  Anyway enough about the weather already.

The reason for this post is to show you my ultimate summer, or should I say hot weather suit. Summers in England are no guarantee for hot weather as you may know. So really and truly, I should change the title of the post from “summer suit” to “hot weather suit” right? Nah I think I will leave it as it is. Continue reading The ultimate summer suit

T.M. Lewin – Heritage is the word

The first T.M. Lewin store opened in Jermyn street in 1898. Yes, that’s like 118 years ago when T.M. Lewin opened it doors to the public. I couldn’t believe it when I found out through Louis the origins and history of this noble brand. Louis was the host of this exclusive in-store styling session where I was one of only five bloggers invited.

I was made to understand that some of the fabric used by T.M. lewin is made exclusively by a company in Scotland by invitation only. I have to admit that I was amazed at what I refer to as the rich history of this high street store. Continue reading T.M. Lewin – Heritage is the word

Casual with a hint of class for Spring/summer

As you all know, summer is around the corner and for what it’s worth, the layers are falling off as fast as autumn leaves. As the temperature rises, naturally we wear less and gravitate more towards comfort. Even though the weather in Europe has taken a dive in the last couple of days, I thought it would be handy to do a quick post on spring/summer casual wear

For many people, the minute the word casual is mentioned, denim or tracksuit bottoms and trainers come to mind. Don’t get me wrong there is a place for the above but casual need not be that casual. The kind of casual I am talking about is one where you can walk into a classy bar and not feel out of place. IMG_7594I was away for a long weekend in Venice recently and I fully utilised the casual but classy look. I was able to pull off two different looks with changes to the top half of my outfits only Continue reading Casual with a hint of class for Spring/summer

A man’s guide to wedding outfit as a guest

IMG_9849

They say height of spring is the perfect  wedding weather  and I couldn’t agree more. It must be that sweet spot between the last remnants of the winter cold and the scorching summer sun. That time of the year when nature itself comes out to play, petals start to blossom  and the birds are chirping. It’s the perfect time to dust off those light coloured blazers and polish those penny loafers. Anyway before I get carried away, I better get back to talking about weddings or more precisely a wedding I witnessed a week ago.
