Ok this post is going to be super shot. And I don’t mean one of those posts in the past I promised to keep shot but ended up making long through describing how shot it was gonna be lol.
Anyone that know me in person knows that I absolutely love Paul Smith shoes. I mean Paul Smith is one of my favourite British designers so I guess it makes sense that I love his shoes. However, I did not realise I had this many shoes from Mr Smith until I added these beautiful derby into the collection. The last three receipts of shoes have all come from the same store, can you imagine?
Slip-ons, tasselled loafers, boots, lace-ups, you name it I have them all. In my humble opinion, Paul Smith cannot go wrong when it comes to shoes.
So in recognition to adding another pair to the collection, I thought it would be a good idea to style these bad boys and see how they fare in this autumnal season.
Closest to the shoes are my green T M Lewin socks which I made sure could be seen by rolling up my jeans. It is always a good idea to roll up your jeans if you want to make a statement with your socks.
Next to the socks are my old pair of Gap jeans. Ok I have a little confession to make about these jeans. These jeans are so old and worn that they actually have a hole between my legs even after taking them to the tailor to be mended. These jeans fit so well that I can’t find a worthy replacement and trust me I have tried. Basically, I can’t get myself to throw them out so I keep risking embarrassing my self by wearing them from time to time.
Next in line is a light denim shirt. Because it is a different colour shade to my jeans, this works quite well.
As the weather around this time of the year gets chillier, I throw a blue and white check blazer over the shirt. Mind you, the colour and the patterns on the blazer are different to the shirt creating the appropriate contrast I needed.
Finally for aesthetic reasons only, I threw a hat over my head. The hat matches the colour of my jeans perfectly. The check blazer breaks the navy of the hat and the navy of my jeans nicely.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the styling of these shoes. How would you have styled them apart from the way I already have?
